Funeral
Today is the funeral of the King's sister, Princess Galyani Vadhana. She died in January, but her funeral is just happening today. We were told that everyone would be wearing black today to show that they are in mourning. So, Richard and I dressed in black. Then we got breakfast in town. And no one was wearing black. But us. We feel kind of dumb.

That's funny. Who was it that told you to wear black? I was very surprised when I read that black was the color to wear, and then I read further...
Well, we passed some funeral ceremonies, and most of the people who were attending them were wearing either black or black and white. So, I think it was the appropriate color, but most people only seemed to bother if they were actually going to a funeral ceremony.
Wow. When I was in Thailand in early February they were definitely in mourning - huge portraits of the princess all over Bangkok. I had no idea they mourned for that long before the funeral.
Actually, it was the princess' recent passing that got me and my friends scammed. Long story.
